About the West Island Cardiac Wellness Program

Mission Statement

Our main objective is to improve the fitness level and promote a heart healthy lifestyle in patients with coronary heart disease. Those who participate in our program will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to take responsibility for their heart health with the goal of decreasing the risk of future cardiac events.

This program is offered in an atmosphere of support and encouragement, addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery.

Our History

For five years the West Island Cardiac Wellness Program provided quality cardiac rehabilitation, education and support to those in our community affected by heart disease. The program was offered entirely free of charge thanks to the generosity of community and corporate sponsors. The program ended in January 2012 when the space being donated was no longer available. We worked hard to become a non-profit organization, obtain status as a registered charity and re-launch this much needed program. We are pleased and proud that the West Island Cardiac Wellness Program is once again available for those affected by heart disease in our community!

The West Island Cardiac Wellness Program Inc. is a registered non-profit organization. We have also obtained registered charity status. We are very pleased to once again offer this much needed program.

Our Cardiac Education Program
